Footage of Pope Hitting a Woman
As the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, Bishop of Rome, and the Head of State of the Vatican City, people have a lot of expectations on the Pope. He is believed to be the most patient, most loving, most holy man living on Earth – ideally.

But recently, Pope Francis showed the world that even the most patient of popes could lose his patience and that, holy man as he might be, he is still human. And humans can get impatient and angry at times!

All eyes were on the Pope as he talked to Roman Catholic devotees at St Peter’s Square in the Vatican City on New Year’s Eve. Cameras focused on his interaction with the people as he walked along the line of devotees who were awaiting his blessing. The Pope appears to be in a good mood and was jovial as he smiled at the people who were all waiting for the New Year.

Everyone was happy to see him – and Pope Francis appeared to be happy with that as well. But one overeager devotee was not able to receive his blessing as the pope moved away when he was just a few steps away from her.

Eager to speak with him and ask for his blessing, perhaps, the woman reached out and yanked at the pope’s arm. This caused the old pope to nearly fall backwards with the force of the yank. He was forced to move closer to the woman who continued to hold his arm firmly. She refused to let him go, leading the pope to hit her hand twice until she finally released him.

Obviously, the angry pope did not give her his blessing but walked away in anger. The camera pans out, but people caught his angry expression. The internet was soon divided over his reaction, with many saying that this is but a natural reaction of someone who got hurt by the other person’s actions. Others disagree, however, saying that as pope he should have been more patient to the devotee…
