There are a variety of ways on how to teach your child this method. You can use a clothespin or clothes peg. You can place the pencil in the middle of the clothespin or clothes peg and let your child grip it.

You can use a small plastic bottle, such as an empty glue or correction fluid bottle. You just have to poke a hole in the middle and insert the pencil. Then, you should give it to your child and make him grasp the plastic bottle with the pencil.

You can use a small rubber stress ball. The child can grip the stress ball along with the pencil.
